These workshops bring together famous translators of poetry and prose and those who only just decided to try their hand at translating fiction. Usually a translator submits a draft of their work for their colleagues’ approval and together the curator of the workshop and its attendees analyze translation, give advice and edit it.
Adam Globus’ School of Creative Writing
School’s program focuses on learning about and practicing such literary genres as diary entries, hokku, gregueria by looking at examples from world and Belarusian literature: Sei Shonagon, Janka Bryl, Basho, Ramón Gómez de la Serna, etc.
The festival is a place for close communication between all participants of the book publishing industry: publishers and authors, editors and critics, illustrators and designers, traslators and, of course, readers who are interested in high-quality modern Belarusian intellectual literature. It’s a critical review of everything produced by the Belarusian publishing industry in the last few years, an attempt to answer questions like, ‘Where should we go from here?’, ‘Does Belarusian intellectual literature have a future?’, ‘In which condition and traditions do we find ourselves now?’
